This past week, we preached revival meetings at Independent Baptist Church in Kingwood, WV. Many families were struggling with sickness throughout the week, but we praise the Lord for their faithfulness, the Lord’s working in hearts, and for the decisions made during the week. ... See MoreSee Less

This past week, I was incredibly blessed by attending an evening service at a local church missions conference. The preacher gave practical Bible instruction on praying for our missionaries. I was struck by how often we want God to answer specific requests, yet we rarely pray specifically. Sadly, this poor habit also affects how we pray for those we send out to plant and pastor local churches in faraway places. Thankfully, the Lord provides clear guidance on how to pray specifically for these church planters.Pray specifically for…1. Open Doors“Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.” (Colossians 4:2-4)2. Courage“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” (Ephesians 6:18-20)3. Protection“Finally, brethren, pray for us…that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. “2 Thessalonians 3:1-2)4. God’s Word Would Be Received“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:” (2 Thessalonians 3:1)5. Refreshment“Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints; That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.” (Romans 15:30-32)6. Purity“Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.” (Hebrews 13:18) ... See MoreSee Less
