“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,” Psalm 92:1-2
The past few months have been an incredible whirlwind of new opportunities and divine blessings. We traveled over 5,000 miles, witnessed revival fires ignite, celebrated many individuals who trusted Christ, and praised God for His protection during narrow escapes on the road. We also faced heavy snowstorms in the Midwest, got trapped by over four inches of ice in Dallas, leaked diesel (through failing welds) across several hundred miles, and saw God’s perfect plan and faithfulness unfold throughout.
We thought we had avoided most of the snow this winter, but since January, every state we’ve visited has experienced at least some flurries. Amazingly, the cold hasn’t kept people from attending revival meetings. After an incredible revival at Maranatha Baptist Church in Ripley, Tennessee, we traveled to Mississippi. Following the Sunday morning service, the pastor’s granddaughter trusted Jesus as her only way to Heaven. The church rejoiced, as many had been praying for her. A few weeks ago, the same pastor texted me to share that he had just learned another person they’d been praying for, who attended that morning service, had trusted Christ while driving home that afternoon. Often, we don’t realize what God is doing behind the scenes or what He continues after meetings. Moments like these reveal His ongoing work, which truly excites and encourages us.
From Mississippi, we headed to Arkansas, and as soon as we arrived, we learned about upcoming snowstorms. Thankfully, we were able to promptly adjust our schedule and leave after preaching Wednesday night’s service. We reached Dallas, Texas, just hours before the ice began falling. Despite facing over four inches of ice, temperatures didn’t stay below freezing for long, and after a few days, we continued on toward Fort Worth and Houston.
A common challenge in our travels is the need for repairs from driving on rough roads, especially in places like Indiana. It’s similar to putting your house and vehicle in a paint shaker at your local hardware store. During our rushed trip into Texas to outrun heavy snowfall in the Midwest, we experienced several wear-and-tear issues. One involved our 80-gallon diesel reserve tank. After filling up, we discovered a broken weld that was causing a leak of about 50 gallons of diesel throughout Arkansas and Texas. When we arrived in Houston, we explored options to reweld the tank but were unsuccessful. Through prayer, we replaced the tank and installed a new one, which has performed well over the last 500 miles.
Before spending a week with our sending church in Ohio, we had the joy of preaching a Faith Promise Missions Conference at Berean Baptist Church in Elberta, Alabama. This church blessed us greatly, and it was exciting to share God’s plan for local and global missions through Biblical obedience.
There is much more the Lord has done, with many recent meeting reports that can’t be included here. Please know that your prayers and support are a great blessing and encouragement as we travel and preach for revival. Thank you for your faithfulness.
