New Year, Same God

Last year was our busiest yet most wonderful ministry year ever! We had the joy of preaching in over 37 churches, six weeks of camp, four Christian schools, many youth rallies, and other ministry events. Between these meetings, we traveled over 40,000 miles and saw numerous decisions and many trust in Jesus for eternal life. Our Lord has been so good, and none of His promises have fallen to the ground (1 Samuel 3:19). However, there is so much more to do for Christ, and already, this year, He has shown Himself to be strong.

Since January we have had the joy of preaching meetings in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, back to Florida, and then Alabama. In one of our recent meetings in Florida, a young man slipped in the back right at the beginning of the preaching. I was preaching from Mark 5 on the hope offered to the hopeless. He listened intently to the preaching but did not respond publicly in the invitation. It was evident that the Lord was working in his heart. I asked him if he knew he was on his way to Heaven. He said no, but that he would like to know. After I went through the entire Gospel, I asked him if he would like to trust Christ. He said, “yes, but I am not worthy.” I was thrilled to show him that we were not worthy but that Jesus offered eternal life to unworthy people. Praise the Lord! This young man knows now that he is going to Heaven!

We were at Smyrna Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida, when the historic snowstorm hit in January! We had successfully escaped the snow this year until this storm, and over eight inches of snow was lying on our RV roof. We did have to cancel two nights of the meeting and a preacher’s fellowship hosted by Smyrna, but we were able to extend the meeting to the following Sunday, and the Lord continued His work. At least five teenagers trusted the Lord during this meeting.

We have had several truck and trailer challenges over the past couple of months, but once again the Lord has shown Himself faithful. We discovered that our trailer tires were wearing unusually. After much prayer and investigation, we found that our trailer suspension was not correctly aligned at the manufacturer. Within a week of discovering and bringing the problem before the Lord, an individual approached us asking if we needed any trailer repairs. I said that I had a suspension issue and needed a welder to look at it. He then said he was a welder and would love to help however he could. Throughout the meeting in South Carolina, he worked tirelessly to repair the issue and get us road-ready again.

Unfortunately, the suspension issue had taken a severe toll on both the truck and trailer tires. But God is so good! In Jacksonville, the Lord provided tires on the rear trailer axle, and then in Alabama, the Lord sent sweet servants along to provide the tires on the front trailer axle.

Please pray with us about a continuing issue we are having with the truck. We believe the issue is related to the high-pressure pump, but as of yet, we have been unable to accurately identify it.

We rejoice in what the Lord has done and continues to do. Already this year, the Lord has changed lives and sent His reviving work. In one of our recent meetings in Florida, a man walked out at the end and said, “I have been revived this week. Please don’t take the revival with you when you leave.” I am so glad revival is not dependent upon a preacher but on God’s promise and the obedience of His people! God is still able.
