Thank you for your prayers over the last several months. We have had the joy of preaching in meetings spanning over fourteen states in the Midwest, Northwest, and Southwest. Time and time again the Lord has shown Himself strong. We have seen the Lord meet with us in revival prayer meetings, and then the power of God fall during the services. Although there is always great opposition to Bible truth, we are rejoicing in the many victories Christians have found through depending on the Word of God.
We have also had the joy of seeing many results from the revival meetings. In one meeting we saw ten come to Christ. Just a couple weeks later, another five trusted Christ at the first revival meeting the church had ever had. One of the individuals who was saved during a week was a junior high boy. As he left the service he hugged me and through tears said, “I got a second birthday today!” All of these who trusted Christ during the week were invited by Christians who simply got right with God about their own sin during the meeting, and then stepped out by faith in obedience to God.
During the months of June and July, we had the joy of preaching four weeks of youth camps. God worked during these weeks and we saw many more salvation and revival decisions. One young man came to me after a service and said, “I’ve been doing it my way, but I know that’s wrong. I want to choose God’s way. Would you pray with me?” He confessed his sin, claimed God’s promise of cleansing, and left at the end of camp free!
We could go on and on about how God has been working, but truly it is just that…GOD! It is not a program or a preacher! So many today would love to focus on anything else but God Himself. When we simply yield to Him in obedience, that is when He can step in and do the work. The Lord even had to remind His people,
“Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day.” Exodus 14:13
Thank you also for your prayers for our safety over the many miles of travel. California diesel prices were certainly higher than other states, ranging anywhere from $6.19 – $6.79 a gallon (vs. $3.21 in Arizona). There also seemed to be a common desire in western drivers to run the “big rig” off the road. But praise the Lord, He kept us safe every step of the way.
A few weeks ago, we had the absolute joy of preaching in a Chinese church, and then in a few weeks we will have a week of meetings in a Spanish church. Preaching through an interpreter does have some very unique challenges and we would greatly appreciate your prayers that the Gospel would have free course to both the sinner and the saint, no matter the language barrier.
We thank the Lord regularly for you all and we so appreciate your prayers. Time is getting short, and we have much to do through the power of God before our Savior returns.
