The Simplicity Of The Gospel

“And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” Luke 14:23

What a joy it was this past week to preach a three-night teen outreach ‘Cola War’ rally at my home church in Fairmont, West Virginia, and to see the Lord work in many wonderful ways.  In preparation for the week, the church had passed out over 4,000 flyers throughout the community, and over eighty teenagers attended during the three-night event.

Each night during the rally; I was able to preach the simple plan of Salvation, and at least seven teenagers came to Christ.  To God be the glory!  One counselor said later that the young lady she dealt with on the first night would not even let her finish reviewing the Gospel a second time, but insisted that she was ready to trust Christ at that very moment!  A young man who also trusted Christ during the week told me he had been considering eternity for several weeks, but did not know what steps to take.  He went on to comment that he now understood the simplicity of trusting Christ as his only way to Heaven, and how happy he was that Jesus had paid his debt completely.  Praise the Lord for the simplicity of the Gospel!

The Sunday Services concluded the meeting, and it was evident that God’s people were excited and stirred from what God had done during the week.  Please be in prayer for the youth workers and teenagers alike during the upcoming weeks of follow-up and discipleship.
