Yes! Jesus Loves Me

Jeremiah 31:3 “…Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love…”

Are there times when you need some reminders of God’s love for you? Difficult trials sometimes cause us to wonder, even though we know the truth. You may have wondered if God still cares, if He knows you exist, if He still loves you. Maybe there is sin you are convinced God could never forgive you of, let alone love you still. Or maybe, it is simply that Satan whispers in your ear “Yea, hath God said…?” If you can be convinced that God does not love you, you will be defeated. You can never grow in your walk with the Lord, you can never get back up knowing God forgives, you can never effectively share God’s love with anyone if you are not convinced of the truth that God loves you.

#1- God wants you to go to Heaven when you die.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” If you are part of “the world” (mankind) and a “whosoever,” then God loved you enough to send His Son Jesus to die on the cross for you. God has made salvation available to all (2 Peter 3:9, 2 Corinthians 5:14-15). He wants you to be in Heaven with Him. God wants a relationship with you forever. He does not want you to spend forever apart from Him in Hell, paying the wages of your sin (Romans 6:23). If you have never trusted Jesus for salvation, simply realize you are a sinner in need of the Savior, Jesus Christ, and trust Him to save you and forgive you of your sin.

#2 – God desires fellowship with you.

From Genesis to Revelation, God seeks fellowship with man. When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden and hid from God, God was the first to seek them out. Genesis 3:9 says, “And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?” In Revelation 3:20 Jesus says, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” God truly wants to walk with you in fellowship.

#3 – God longs for you to have abundant life.

In John 10:10, Jesus says “…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” He not only came for you to have eternal life, He also came for you to have abundant life – a life full of peace, joy, strength, rest. At times, you may have thought that God was against you. It’s a lie. God loves you and desires the very best for you!

#4 – God wants to carry your burdens for you.

1 Peter 5:7 states, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”  You may have experienced times in your life when you thought God has left you to carry all your burdens and heartaches alone, that He is not interested in what you are going through. Another lie. He loves you and wants you to come unload everything to Him.

#5 – God has promised to never leave you.

Hebrews 13:5 “…for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” He never abandons you. You may go through difficult trials where it feels like God is nowhere to be found. But, that is when you have to simply rest in what He says. He is still there, because God never breaks a promise.

#6 – God assures you that He keeps and seals you.

When you trusted Christ for salvation, He sealed you. Nothing can take away His salvation. Your feelings cannot take away His salvation, nor can sin or the devil! Once you trust Him for salvation, you are His forever!  Ephesians 1:13-14 says, “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”

#7 – God is quick to forgive you.

Did you know that God loves you so much, that when you sin, He eagerly waits for you to seek His forgiveness? Psalm 86:5 says, “For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.” You may be convinced by your feelings that God could never forgive you. But His Word proves He longs to forgive you and have restored fellowship with you. His mercy is unto ALL that call upon Him!

#8 – Nothing can separate you from His love.

Romans 8:38-39 says, “For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Nothing will stop God from loving you. Angels cannot halt it. Satan cannot destroy it. No distance can come between it. No thief can steal it. No authority can order it away.

Although these are just a few reminders, His love for you is found all throughout Scripture. Remember, His love is unconditional. You cannot earn any more of God’s love. He loves you whether you believe it or not. His love is limitless. Remember His love, trust His love, grow in His love, and go tell others about His love!

“Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so!”
